The Changing Ways of Toxic Masculinity

     In the modern world today, men and the stigma around men showing emotions and being feminine are finally starting to change; I think. In viewing the documentary, Tough Guise 2 , Jackson Kratz, an anti-violence educator, brings to light the ideas that men are violent because of the world around them. Movies, video games, mental illness, all causing men to react to things in violent ways. Kratz gives examples like the Sandy Hook school shooting, bar fights, and bombings. But why is it that only men seem to have these violent outbursts, when women too live with similar circumstances. Society tells men that in order to be manly, you have to use violence to prove it. 10 Ways To Have a Better Conversation

     I haven't thought much about what goes into having a conversation with someone, it just happens. I mean, it's the same thing as a text message, do you really think about what makes a good conversation with someone? In her TedTalk, Celeste Headlee discusses the 10 rules to have a better conversation and to be a better listener. She said a lot of things that stood out to me and made me think about how I should apply them to my own life. One thing she said was to enter every conversation like you have something to learn. Usually that isn't something you would like about going to talk to your best friend or family member, but if you really took the time to listen and learn, you would take something out of each and every conversation.      One hobby I have gotten really into ever since I got a camera is photography. I am taking my first photo class in school this year and have definitely needed some help and ideas for photos.
